My Story

Joanne started dancing at age 3 in England and is trained in ballet, jazz, tap and Irish. She enjoyed success as a competitive dancer for 10 yrs, attaining her RAD ballet exams up to Adv level and performed as a dancer in many local theatre and university musical productions. She continued her love of dance when she moved to Canada, resuming her ballet and jazz training at local dance studios. Joanne's most recent dance training and passion is Irish. She has been training with The Dance Centre since 2007 and teaching both competitive Irish and Recreational students for over 15 yrs. Joanne has successfully completed her World Irish Dance Association (WIDA) Irish dancer Grade exams 1 through 8 , with plans to becoming a certified instructor with WIDA on completion of all her exams. Joanne's chosen career is physiotherapy and is currently working as a community based physiotherapist. Joanne is excited to have the opportunity to share her love of dance with all her students and is thrilled to continue being a part of the TDC teaching staff and family.
